Gratitude

Hi Daddy,

Today, my heart is full of gratitude to you.
I don’t need to recount all of 2024 for you because you already know. It was a tough year in many ways. I was sad a lot, cried a lot, and dealt with intense anxiety because of work. I still remember the pressure of that one presentation—the one that felt like it would make or break me at work.

But right now, there’s calm, and I’m incredibly thankful for it. I say “right now” because one of my goals this year is to appreciate the present moment.

My role at work has grown so much, especially with me actively working toward a promotion. Recently, I completed user feedback sessions, wrote the report, and received feedback from my manager. Even though it was small, it was so encouraging. One of my coworkers also shared a kind note with me, and it filled my heart with joy.

I’m thankful for so much:

  • Thankful for knowledge.

  • Thankful for the ability to apply that knowledge.

  • Thankful for finally gaining my confidence again.

  • Thankful that procrastination didn’t get the best of me (iykyk).

  • Thankful for the ability to think and for your grace.

Thinking about how sad I was just a couple of weeks ago compared to now fills me with awe. Thank you for carrying me through it all.

Love,
Your Daughter
